the Institute
When it opened its doors 7 years ago,
the Institute of Cardiovascular Medicine
had enlisted the cooperation of only a
handful of specialists. The members of
this young team were however competent,
highly motivated and, above all, determined
to build a solid reputation for excellence
in cardiovascular care, both locally and
nationally. Fully aware that both innovative
thinking and team-work are essential to high
quality health care, the specialists of our
institute have devoted all their combined
efforts to the task of implementing the very
latest methods and techniques both in the
diagnosing and in the treatment of the
cardiovascular pathology, which is,
unfortunately, the primary cause of mortality
in Romania.
In a relatively short period of time, the
quality and the amount of the care we
provide, as well as, the teaching and research
activities carried out at our institute have
earned us a leading position in Romanian
cardiovascular medicine and a fruitful
collaboration with our European and American
colleagues. Nevertheless, we regard our
achievements not only as a source of pride,
but also as an incentive to continually improve
our performance and to raise the quality
standards we measure ourselves by.
